Our Mission
Legal Navigator’s mission is to give you the best possible help for your particular legal problem. To do that, our online tool will help you find legal information you can trust and understand, and referrals to trusted service providers who can help you.
To create Legal Navigator, Microsoft, the Legal Services Corporation, Pro Bono Net, The Pew Charitable Trusts, and Avanade worked with the civil justice communities in Alaska and Hawaii.
Legal Navigator is managed by the Legal Services Corporation-
Many community members and local partners contributed to Legal Navigator’s design and testing. Learn more about Legal Navigator’s development at SimplifyingLegalHelp.org.
At this time, Legal Navigator only provides information and referrals to people in Alaska and Hawaii. We plan/hope to make it available in other states. See our FAQ page to learn more about our goals.
Our Service
At this time, Legal Navigator helps with family law and housing problems, such as divorce, child custody, and eviction. We will add help for other legal topics soon. Legal Navigator’s Guided Assistant helps you make a Plan of Action for your legal problem. Just answer a few questions so we can understand your needs. Then you can share or print your Plan of Action. To save your work, just create a profile. You can search for information and resources by your specific legal topic. Our information and help come from trusted resources, including courts, nonprofit legal aid agencies, and community partners.
